Exploring Microsoft’s New Agent Mode in M365 – and What’s Behind It
Sometimes you’re lucky enough to work with amazing colleagues, and for me, one of those is Kim Steffen Johnsen from Capgemini. We recently had an interesting conversation about some exciting updates from Microsoft.
Microsoft has introduced Agent Mode to Microsoft 365 – and that’s not all. They’ve also integrated Claude into M365 and Copilot Studio. This raised an important question for us:
Is Agent Mode in Excel built on Claude and the Anthropic AI model, or something else entirely?
Kim had already reached out to Microsoft Support to get clarity on this, as it’s crucial for us to understand the underlying technology. After all, we often advise clients, and accuracy matters.
This clarification from Microsoft is significant because, until now, the information available wasn’t entirely clear. Both Kim and I agreed that having the right details helps us provide better guidance and stay ahead in this rapidly evolving AI landscape.
What Do You Think?
- Have you tried Agent Mode in M365 yet?
- Do you believe integrating Claude will change how we work with Excel and Copilot Studio?
- How do you see AI agents shaping productivity in the next year?
